Cardio & BloodProtocol for EDTA chelation therapy is monitored by the American College of Advancement in Medicine who have declared safety levels for clearance of EDTA in the body. Recently they have modified their protocol to allow the use of mini chelations, using half the amount of EDTA and able therefore to be administered in half the time. This could have benefits in the area of preventive treatment, but not all chelation physicians believe in its efficacy. The latter are of the opinion that it needs a certain concentration of EDTA to effect the removal of calcium from arterial plaque. Time will tell whether this perfectly safe (but not yet proven effective) treatment will have its place. (NB: Another type of EDTA is used from that deployed in regular therapy).
Certainly the role of prevention, and indeed good health maintenance is one increasingly recognized by health authorities all over the world (including the UK National Health System) as being a key issue in future national health programmes.
